It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? #5
It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme to share what you recently finished reading, what you’re currently reading, and what you plan on reading next. It’s an awesome way to connect over books and to find out about new books for your TBR! This weekly post is hosted by the wonderful Bookdate. You can find my last weeks post HERE!
What I read last week!
Oh my goodness, I absolutely adored this book. This story was so beautiful and clever. My only complaint is that I never wanted it to end! This was one that I borrowed from the library, but I am definitely going to have to pick up my own copy.
I feel like this is going to become one of those books I reread often, and love even more each time.
I’m not going to say anything else as I definitely plan to write a review of this one for the blog. Keep your eye out for that in the next few weeks!
If you didn’t catch it last week, I made a post about how I had never read Percy Jackson and the Olympians, which you can find HERE. The idea was to finally pick up this beloved series and see if I can enjoy it as an adult reading it for the first time.
So I decided to get started my task of reading this series this week. I am currently about 2/3’s through The Lightening Thief and I am really enjoying it. Again, I don’t want to say too much here as I will be posting updates on how I am getting on with this series. Keep your eye out for those!
I’ve only just started this, but I already feel like I am going to enjoy it quite a lot. It is already quite an easy and fun read, with characters I seem able to relate too in some way.
It definitely feels weird reading a book like this in winter, as I would normally save it to read in the summer. This would be a perfect book to take to the beach for some lazy reading in the sun.
Hopefully I will love it enough that I will want to pick up more of Matsons books when the sun comes back later in the year!
A few weeks ago I found the box set of The Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy in our local secondhand bookstore for a total steal! This felt like a sign, telling me I should bump these up to the top of my TBR shelf!
I absolutely adore Stiefvater’s The Raven Cycle series. I read them all last year and fell head over heels in love with the beautiful story. So I have pretty high expectations for this one. Although, I don’t think I could ever love it as much as The Raven Cycle… we will just have to wait and see!
What are you reading this week? Anything exciting coming up next for you?
