It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? #5

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme to share what you recently finished reading, what you’re currently reading, and what you plan on reading next. It’s an awesome way to connect over books and to find out about new books for your TBR! This weekly post is hosted by the wonderful Bookdate. You can find my last weeks post HERE!

What I read last week!

The Love That Split The World – Emily Henry

Oh my goodness, I absolutely adored this book. This story was so beautiful and clever. My only complaint is that I never wanted it to end! This was one that I borrowed from the library, but I am definitely going to have to pick up my own copy.

I feel like this is going to become one of those books I reread often, and love even more each time.

I’m not going to say anything else as I definitely plan to write a review of this one for the blog. Keep your eye out for that in the next few weeks!

Currently reading…

Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief – Rick Riordan

If you didn’t catch it last week, I made a post about how I had never read Percy Jackson and the Olympians, which you can find HERE. The idea was to finally pick up this beloved series and see if I can enjoy it as an adult reading it for the first time.

So I decided to get started my task of reading this series this week. I am currently about 2/3’s through The Lightening Thief and I am really enjoying it. Again, I don’t want to say too much here as I will be posting updates on how I am getting on with this series. Keep your eye out for those!

Since You’ve Been Gone – Morgan Matson

I’ve only just started this, but I already feel like I am going to enjoy it quite a lot. It is already quite an easy and fun read, with characters I seem able to relate too in some way.

It definitely feels weird reading a book like this in winter, as I would normally save it to read in the summer. This would be a perfect book to take to the beach for some lazy reading in the sun.

Hopefully I will love it enough that I will want to pick up more of Matsons books when the sun comes back later in the year!

What’s next?

Shiver – Maggie Stiefvater

A few weeks ago I found the box set of The Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy in our local secondhand bookstore for a total steal! This felt like a sign, telling me I should bump these up to the top of my TBR shelf!

I absolutely adore Stiefvater’s The Raven Cycle series. I read them all last year and fell head over heels in love with the beautiful story. So I have pretty high expectations for this one. Although, I don’t think I could ever love it as much as The Raven Cycle… we will just have to wait and see!

What are you reading this week? Anything exciting coming up next for you?

I haven’t read The Lightning Thief yet. It’s been on my TBR list for like forever, can’t believe I didn’t get around to it yet. I hope you enjoy it!

I was feeling exactly the same which is why I have decided to pick it up now. I just hope I love the series as much as everyone else seems too!

      Thanks for reading!

The Love That Split the World! Glad that you loved that one. I haven’t heard much about it tbh, but I did like the concept of it and wanted to read it too. 🙂 And despite not having read a Morgan Matson yet, I could not say no to a hardcover for that book (the reverse jacket is beautiful!). Hope you love it! 🙂

I’m currently reading “My Life as a Hashtag” by Gabrielle Williams. It’s amazing so far! Loving it. Would expect nothing less from an esteemed Aussie author such as her. <3

I’m working on a review for The Love That Split The World right now 😉

I haven’t got to far into Since You’ve Been Gone, but I already know I’m going to want to read more of hers!

      Thanks for reading 😚

I read all parts of Percy Jackson and the Olympians last week. Started Sunday, ended Sunday and loved them! So much so that I practically had my review written while reading the last book [Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian], haha.
This week I’m going to read Roar by Cora Carmach. 🙂

That’s so awesome!!! I’ve been reading a few other books at the same time so I’m only finishing the first one tonight! But I will definitely check out your review later!

I’ve read The Lightning Thief but not the rest of the series. The Shiver series is my favorite of Stiefvater’s books. I hope you enjoy it too. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

I really hope I love Shiver!

Rats, I almost picked up The Love that Split the World at the used bookstore this weekend – wish I had now! I read Matson’s the Unexpected Everything in winter, and it was such a nice sunny break from the dreary weather. I loved her writing though, and plan on reading Since You’ve Been Gone at the beach this August!

Oh damn! You really should have grabbed that one! I’m going to have to buy my own copy soon as I borrowed it from the library thinking it would be a read once and return kind of book. I was so wrong.

I bought The Unexpected Everything for my cousin at Christmas and she really loved it, so it’s definitely on my TBR.

      Thanks for stopping by 😊

I’ve read Love that Split the World and The Lightning Thief. The other two are on my TBR. It’s been a busy week with a cracked toilet, day camp, and paperwork for cross country. Come see what I’m reading
